Tipple Talk is a wine tasting company founded in 2020 by Katrina Smith. Starting as a virtual experience during lockdown, Tipple Talk has evolved to offer a monthly wine club, blind tastings, mock exams for wine students and in-person events.
ABOUT KATRINA
Katrina is an award-winning wine professional with over 10 years experience in the industry. Her journey in wine started in 2011 in the South of France where she helped out with a local grape harvest.
Since then, Katrina has worked in retail, shipping and tourism, and now alongside Tipple Talk, is Operations Manager at Itasca Wines and Penn Croft winery in Hampshire.
Katrina completed her WSET Diploma in 2018, picking up the Louis Jadot prize for outstanding results and the McNie Trophy for best tasting marks globally.
I co-hosted a virtual cheese & wine tasting event with Katrina for clients from a key advertising agency. It was a huge success: relaxed and full of laughter. Katrina’s knowledge of wines is awe-inspiring, but it’s her gift for communication and story-telling that really made the event so enjoyable. The wines she selected were top notch and her descriptions of how to experience them at their best is something that will stay with us all for the future.
